Hi everyone! I’m Vic Glover I’m 20 years old and I am a third year Fashion Merchandising student, minoring in Marketing and Studio Art at Ball State University. After graduation I hope to either open a small boutique with thrifted and upcycled clothing or work with major brands in a marketing position.

This stems from being a fashion lover and a kid that loved to dress up even though I was very shy. I would come up with unique fashion to wear to school and ask my family for their opinions and got a lot of support for my style. I grew up on a farm in Southern Indiana near a small town. I got most of my clothes from Goodwill as a child so from that I was inspired to start thrifting for the majority of my fashion. In my small town there was not a lot of options in things to do so I got most of my enjoyment from thrifting, going to local coffee shops and driving down country roads.

I have been a fan of all things fashion since I was as little as 9 or 10 years old. I have gone through so many fashion aesthetics since middle school. The order went emo, goth, grunge, hippie, old librarian chic, preppy, kpop boy, e-boy, skater boy and now something that cant be tied to any aesthetic. And I love to see how peoples style changes as they grow up and explore different sides to themselves and their fashion. Currently, I am very interested in the revamped styles of the early 2000s from social media creators like @enyaumanzor and the mixing of vintage styles with modern twists like @contrachloe. I have been very interested in keeping up with the changes fashion goes through year by year and especially in the recent pandemic. Fashion changes across different aesthetics in this time we are in is very important to me and I am excited to share all the inspiration I have found as well as the incoming trends I have seen across the past year.

Lastly I think its important to mention that I’m a nonbinary lesbian and that influences a lot of my style choices. I have made a lot of decisions about my style in order to reflect my gender identity and my attraction to women and feminine folks. A lot of my fashion inspiration is from folks that don’t abide to the gender roles in fashion and I find that that’s something that controls how I view and interact with fashion trends, silhouettes, and other fashion fans. In the end I believe it should always be in fashion to be yourself and I want to share that take with all of you!
